Workout Regimen x hh

I’ve always been a pretty athletic and motivated person, so staying active is not too difficult for me! I have recently been getting in the habit of trying to get outside or get moving for at least 30 min to an hour every day. Whether it’s going for a walk, doing an ab circuit by (my fave) Katie Austin, going for a run, surfing, or doing a workout class, I like to keep my body active and my mind relaxed for a little part of each day. I’m so fortunate to live near the beach because I do not (and I cannot stress this enough) enjoy running indoors. Treadmills are simply not it for me, honey.

Anywho, since I have had just SO much free-time being home from Italy (sad vibes), I decided to really focus on perfecting my personal workout routine. Without further ado, here’s my weekly regimen, broken down by days:

Monday~ Rest/light workout. Mondays are typically my day “off” from working out because, well you know how Mondays are. To get moving, I usually go for a walk with my mom on the strand. I love these walks because it’s a great way to spend time with her after she’s done with work, and it gets us hungry for dinner!

Tuesday~ Run! Now that it’s springtime, I try to take advantage of the great weather by running outside and breathing in the fresh ocean air. My happy running place in the strand, and my typical 3-4 mile route consists of running down Pier Ave. from my house, up to Manhattan Beach, and back to the Hermosa Beach Pier. Then I do a cool-down walk all the way up the hill to my house.

Wednesday~ Cross-train. For cross-training days, I like to do a Katie Austin workout, SoulCycle or GreenYogi class, or, if the waves are good, SURF!!! Cross-training is seriously so important to staying fit because it not only prevents your workouts from getting boring, but it also aids in toning other parts of your body.

Thursday-Sunday~ I usually try to run the same route every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, with some minor changes. For example, I might run towards Redondo rather than Manhattan, or I might run on the Green Belt for a small portion of the workout. Depending on my plans, I keep Friday open as a rest/light workout day, but sometimes I have to adjust and switch it out with Saturday or Sunday--because after all, a night at The Deck can keep me on the couch for days ;).

I’m currently working towards a new goal of running a half-marathon in the next couple of months, so I’m also going to be slowly increasing my mile count for my runs on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. Will keep updating on that!

Daily skincare routine x hh

Hi people! Not that I’m an influencer by literally any means...but since being home from abroad, I’ve wanted to start blogging my opinions, ideas, practices, secrets ;), etc. So! Here we go.

Since the winter season/colder months is an especially difficult period of time for my skin, I’ve really gotten into a set daily routine. Without the sun and salt water to clear my skin naturally (shout out Pacific Ocean in the summertime!), I needed to find a new, more effective way to take care of my skin. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you my super complicated, hard-to-follow skincare routine~

  1. Cetaphil Face Wash Every day, sometimes twice a day, I wash my face with this amazingly refreshing face soap. It’s so rare and sophisticated, I think it might be hard to find at your local store, so I’ve linked it here. [Sidenote, I literally had to pay €35 for it in Italy when I ran out a few weeks ago.] Anywho, I straight up live by this face wash because it’s simple, cheap, and makes me feel extra clean! Also, pro-tip if you don’t immediately shower after working out or going to the beach or just getting sweaty in general, Wash. Your. Face. It’ll make you feel a million times fresher and your skin will thank you!

  2. Rose Quartz Face Roller Another thing I like to do everyday is scuplt/de-puff my face using a face roller. I personally prefer the rose quartz ones, but I have also heard that jade rollers work just as well. Last summer, I did PR for a fancy face roller company, so I learned a lot about the benefits of this practice, as well as how to pick out the perfect roller. I didn’t spend much on my roller from amazon.com, linked here, and I’m honestly obsessed. I usually try to de-puff right after I wake up in the morning and right before I go to bed. Not only does the practice of face-rolling smooth and tighten your skin, it also eases stress in the jaw area. Highly recommend getting if you don’t already have.

  3. CeraVe Moisturizing Cream Once again, every morning and night I put on this moisturizer. It’s especially amazing because it has SPF, so that’s a win win! I honestly just started using moisturizer like 2 years ago, and it totally changed the game for my skin, particularly in these drier, winter months. It’s not expensive, nor hard-to-find, so basically it checks all the boxes. :) I usually wait until after I’ve used my face roller before applying moisturizer because I don’t want the roller to get super oily.

  4. Rose Water Facial Toner Trader Joe’s really came in clutch with this product. Tbh I’m not such a huge expert on what it does for my skin, but it just feels/smells really good and fresh. I typically spritz my face a few times before leaving the house in the morning and before getting in bed at night. Also it’s only like $4, so thanks Trader Joe. Love you!

  5. Origins Clear Improvement Charcoal Mask Okay, the last thing I like to do for my skin once in a while (NOT everyday) is to clear out my pores with a charcoal clay mask of some sort. I randomly acquired a ton of Origins samples at work last year and they’ve lasted me until now, so my skin has been stoked. I really like the way the mask feels and how easy it is to wash off, but I’m sure there are less-expensive options out there! I’ll try some others and get back to you on that.

So there you have it. My incredibly detailed skincare routine. Btw, this is all pre-makeup obviously, so I’ll try to keep up and do a post on that soon.
